Year 2003 Award Guidelines

 

Who We Are

Technology Consulting Alliance is a group of computer service specialists serving Sonoma County businesses and individuals. Our services include hardware and software support, network design and implementation, training, accounting system sales and installation, web design and custom FileMaker Pro database design for both Mac and Windows. Our group currently consists of 6 individuals who are supportive of nonprofit services and their missions. Award

We will provide an annual award of 25 hours consulting service or a copy of our company published EZ Donor – Donor Tracking System and 5 hours of training. The award provides services only and does not cover any equipment or other software purchases. The value of this award is $2,750.

 

Purpose

Our staff members have in the past or are currently serving as board members/volunteers for Sonoma County nonprofit organizations. We appreciate the struggle nonprofits have in obtaining and maintaining information systems. Although our company offers a discounted nonprofit consulting rate, we feel we can provide a vital competitive edge to a small or medium agency with limited resources by providing this award.

 

Award

Organizations qualifying for our award will be:

1.           In operation less than 5 years and have their main office in Sonoma County.

2.           Have a total agency budget of $200,000 or less.

3.           Have less than 10 employees.

4.           Be a 501 c (3) or be pending approval.

 

The services shall be provided to the recipient during the calendar year January 1 2001. Applicants may choose to use the hours all at one time or throughout the year. Nonprofit organizations applying for the award should demonstrate the following:

 

·     Clear definition of need

·     Service area(s) you would be utilizing

·     Results that our award could provide for you in terms of time or resource savings

 

Submission format

Please submit a letter no longer than two pages outlining the following:

 

§     Organization Name, Address, Phone, URL and/or email (if applicable) and contact name

§     Organization Mission

§     List of year 2002-2003 programs with a brief summary of their purpose

§     Budget Size (Please enclose annotated budget)

§     Number of Employees

§     Year the nonprofit began operation

§     Current technology makeup (how many computers, what type - Mac or Windows, are you networked etc.)

§     How do you currently use computers – mainly for accounting, donor tracking, word processing etc.

§     What improvements do you think you need?

§     Explanation of how our award would increase the productivity of your organization

 

 

Application Deadlines

 

June 1, to October 31, 2003 – Two-page letter of application and a budget will be accepted, final deadline will be October 31, 2003 and the applications must be in our office by that time. An October 31 postmark will not suffice to be considered received on time.

 

Note – applications may be faxed or e-mailed and a confirmation of receipt of the materials will be sent via fax back to the organization.

 

November 3, 2003 – Recipient for 2003 award will be notified and also be posted on the TCA website.

 

January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2004 – Services provided.
