Save Time and Money Managing Credit Card Information in Winery Pro™!

Time is precious, and Winery Pro™ saves so much time managing credit card information. For instance, you can easily run expired credit card reports, and e-mail the matching customers directly for updated information. Or just click to view their record and see the information necessary to give them a call. And you will probably find it useful do this a few weeks ahead of a Wine Club shipment, clearing one of the trickiest tasks so that things will run more smoothly at shipping time.

As Winery Pro™ processes credit card transactions, Address Verification (AVS) information is supplied from the customer record to the processor, helping you avoid those nasty hidden charges than often happen for sales when the customer is not present. The authorize.net processor uses secure transactions, and is widely known for reliability and quality service in the unlikely event that there is a problem. You can view detailed transaction history in Winery PRO or even online when you need more information about a transaction.

Finally, if you are concerned about more casual or part-time employees having access to your customer's credit card information, you will be pleased to know that once the numbers are locked in the database, the first twelve numbers are masked with only the last four showing. Your special password is required to access the credit card records, so only the people you trust will have access to view or change this information.

Build Stronger Customer Relationships with Winery Pro™

It has often been said that cultivating the direct sales relationship with your customers and contacts, especially for smaller wineries, is the most effective way to build sales. It is also known that the customers who you meet at your tasting room or at tasting events are your best prospects for future sales.

If you collect customer interests along with e-mail addresses, you can communicate (not spam or blast!) based on this additional information on wines or events in which they are interested. When you target and tailor e-mail sales offers matched to these preferences, those names should result in sales of $3-10 per customer per e-mailing! And they like reading your messages because you consistently talk about things that interest them.

Winery Pro™ allows you to capture your customers' preferences with user-definable checkboxes. Your customers can even enter these preferences themselves on a public computer running in Kiosk mode (an older computer will work fine, perhaps with a flat screen for appearance). Or they can easily be clicked as you enter customer information from paper forms.

    Some additional ideas:

  • E-mail offers great return on minimum investment, but you can also use Winery Pro™ to personalize mail merges to paper if you prefer.

  • Easily, economically target customer interest in specific varietals, using preferential information or by analyzing past buying patterns from invoices, and sell more wine with special offers as you release or clear out specific vintages.

  • Administering Wine Club shipments using Winery Pro™ means that you also can easily mail or better yet inexpensively e-mail reminders just before followup offers expire.

Noted as a "Winery to Watch" in the December 2002 issue of Wine Enthusiast Magazine, we welcome Anomaly Vineyards in St. Helena California as a Winery PRO user.

Anomaly owners Steve and Linda Goldfarb moved to the Napa Valley in 1997 leaving behind the law profession in San Francisco. They became involved in the wine business, and have just released their inaugural Cabernet Sauvignon, which received a 93 point rating from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Using Winery Pro™, the Goldfarbs invoiced close to 200 cases of their 300 case production in the first two weeks ... way to go!

Linda's thoughtfulness about winery operations has provided us invaluable feedback as to great feature enhancements, which we have incorporated into the program ... all ready to make the operation of your winery go even smoother too! For instance, thanks to Anomaly we added the ability to send bulk email to Customers based on the invoice shipping carrier and date shipped - a great way to notify Customers about Wine Club or other special shipment details.
