We have been BUSY!

We have been BUSY! We do apologize for missing the last few newsletter issues. This fall was a busy one, what with bringing up new Winery Pro users and getting ready for a heavy trade show and seminar schedule in 2004. Don't worry: we are stronger than ever and will be adding new information items to the '04 newsletter series. Please be sure to note our trade show and demo schedules in this month's news.
Now you can download demo files!
We now have our demo available via ftp access. We suggest downloading the files via a DSL or faster connection. The files start at 8 MB, so you may find dial up connection too slow. Fill out the demo request form from our website and we will send you login instructions. If you have dialup, just let us know and we will still mail you a CD.

Feature - POS Sales History - Know Your Customer

While attending one of our Point of Sale (POS) winery's special holiday events, it became apparent to me how just how effective knowing your customers can be. From the Winery POS entry screen, you are one button click away from the following customer sales history data:
- Last Sale Date
- Last Sale Amount
- Summary Sales History
- Sales Rank
- Customer Preference Checkbox options
What a great way to up sell - and it is really easy to do. At the holiday event we were able to sign up 5 new wine club memberships and also speak to folks about what they had bought in the past. And by the way: is the customer not in your database yet? Do a rapid Quick Sale, grab their business card, note the invoice number on their card, and associate them back to that sale at any later date.
TCA Staff Member Profile - Jeff Bagby
Every group has someone standing behind the scenes making sure everything works. As the second tallest person at TCA, Jeff Bagby oversees the minutia that makes life fun. Joining TCA in May 2003, he capitalizes on his love of things electronic. Computers are nothing more than tools to make our lives better. At TCA, he relishes the chance to make the best tools work better. "My job," Jeff says, "is to claim a corner of the world, and explain it."
Even though Jeff was not a California Gubernatorial candidate, he has many Grand Ideas. Instead of campaigning, he polished, and polished some more, the user manuals for Winery Pro and EZ Donor.
First and foremost, Jeff is a poet. He brings to TCA far too much computer experience for one who has (almost) never studied computers, what with holding a BA in Creative Writing from Pepperdine University. Jeff has sold computers at retail, served as Manager of Technical Infrastructure Operations for a division of Sony, and designed solar energy solutions for the home after the dot.com bust.
In his spare time, Jeff is a part time movie projectionist in Cloverdale, CA.
